No electronic devices permitted during SOL exams
During all SOL exams, the use of any electronic device, at any point during the SOL test session, will be considered cheating.  This includes anytime during the class period, whether or not all students have finished their SOL exam.

Battlefield Summer Academic Camps - Registration is Open
Don't have time to fit everything into your busy schedule during the school year? Use the Battlefield Academic Camps to enrich your knowledge this summer. Battlefield's ILITE Robotics (indicated by *), along with the Battlefield staff, will host several camps:  3-D Renewable Art, Art with Printing, Cyber Defense*, Cyber Security (by Northrup Grumman) and Math SAT Prep.

Summer Driver Education Instruction
Students are now able to register for Summer Driver's Education Range and Road instruction sessions online. Click here for details and additional information.
Specific dates for instruction for students will be provided after the payment is made to Mrs. Link.  The registration website for Summer Behind the Wheel can be accessed here.
Open Mic Night - May 22nd
Join us on May 22 for our second BHS Open Mic Night held @4410 Club.  This space is a professional music club with a stage, lighting and professional sound system.  Come and hear yourself sound like a star!  Read more about it.
Please sign up to perform any creative act: possibilities include musical acts, poetry, drama, juggling, magic tricks, or anything else creative you can imagine.  However, please remember that all acts must be school appropriate. Any performer who does not follow the code of conduct will be removed from the performance.  ***Please sign up for no more than two slots***
Battlefield HS Spring Blood Drive : May 28
Battlefield High School's Spring Blood Drive with American Red Cross Blood Services, will be Thursday, May 28 from 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM.  The blood drive will be held in the Auxiliary Gymnasium.  
Students 16 years and older may sign up online using this link.  Click on Schedule a new appointment and then login, or register as a new user.  Every student who would like to donate blood must  return a signed parent permission form to the clinic prior to participating.  (Download here)  This form can also be picked up in person at the school clinic.  If you would like additional information, stop by the clinic before or after school or during your lunch shift.

The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.  Thank you in advance for supporting the American Red Cross blood program!

Board of Education's Seal for Excellence in Civics Education: May 29
Community service logs are being distributed on Monday, May 17th to all seniors who meet the initial academic eligibility requirements for the Board of Education's Excellence in Civics Education Seal. Completed community service logs must be submitted to the Counseling Center by Friday, May 29, 2015. Final determination regarding recipients of this diploma seal will be made in June after all final criteria have been reviewed. Seniors who do not receive a community service log in class but who have completed 50 hours of community service and feel they may meet the criteria for the Seal may download the community service log here or pick one up in the Counseling Center. Seniors who do not submit a completed community service log will not be considered for this diploma seal. Contact your counselor if you have any questions.
Yearbook Distribution is almost here!
The Senior Distribution Party will be held during 7th block on May 29th (seniors unable to attend may pick books up the following Monday).  Underclassmen will receive their yearbooks during lunches on the following schedule:  Juniors - June 1, Sophomores - June 2, Freshmen - June 3.  Yearbooks can still be purchased in person by dropping off a form and check for $80 in the front office, prices will be $90 June 1.

School Store Clearance Sale.
The school store is having an end of a school year Month of May Clearance Sale.   All Spirit Gear items have been marked down 50%!!!!!  Hurry as supplies are running out.  It's currently open during 5h block all lunch shifts and located within the open cafeteria.  You can find The School Store on the Web at: [ Click Here  The School Store will close down on May 29th. 
Course Request Verification: June 8
Course request verifications were mailed home to rising 9th -12th students on Wednesday, May 20th. Students wishing to make adjustments to their course requests, including level changes, must indicate on the verification form the course(s) to be added and/or dropped and return the list with parent/guardian signature to the Battlefield Counseling Center by 3:00pm on Monday, June 8, 2015. Students may not request any new courses or level changes after June 8th. Students are expected to remain in their AP and Pre-AP classes for the entire year. BHS students Ryan Keane, Alyssa Estrellado, Tommy DeAngelus, and Laura Keane now anchor a news show about what is happening at Battlefield High School.  The show airs on closed-circuit television at BHS, but you can download an archived version here.
Obtaining AP Scores: July
This July, AP scores will only be available online. Students will not receive scores in the mail. To obtain AP scores, students must sign up for a free College Board account at We encourage students to take this step now, then remember to keep the username and password in a safe place! If you've taken an AP exam in the past, ever registered for the SAT, or participated in other College Board programs, you may already have a College Board account. Try signing in at to find out.

2015-2016 Fall College Fairs: Save the Dates!
Osbourn High School will host the Western Prince William County Regional College Fair on Monday, September 28th, 6:00-8:00pm. Osbourn High School is located at 9005 Tudor Lane, Manassas, 20110.  Hylton High School will host the Eastern Prince William County Regional College Fair on Thursday, October 15th, 6:00-8:00pm.  Hylton High School is located at 14051 Spriggs Rd, Woodbridge, 22193.

Approximately 100 colleges are expected to be represented at each college fair and the events are open to everyone free of charge. Juniors, seniors, and their parents are strongly encouraged to attend! Information regarding additional upcoming college fairs in northern Virginia will be posted on the "College and Military Visits" portion of the Counseling Center webpage as information becomes available.
